On Thursday, August 18, Peoria County's Election Commission will present the free public workshop "Join the Electoral Process: Become an Election Judge" from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. at ICC's North Campus. This workshop is offered through the college's Adult Community Programs and is intended for anyone interested in becoming an election judge. Registration is recommended due to limited seating: visit www.icc.edu/acp and select "Know Your Community" from the catalog, or call 690-6900.
Peoria County's Election Commission needs qualified, reliable men and women to serve as election judges for this year's presidential General Election. Election judges are very important to the democratic electoral process because they administer voting procedures at each precinct on Election Day and ensure all individuals who have the right to vote can do so in a secure environment. Workshop participants will learn the qualifications, responsibilities, and compensation for election judges.
