Heddington Oaks personnel will present "Preparing for Long Term Care," a free public workshop from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16, at Heddington Oaks, 2223 W. Heading Ave in West Peoria. This workshop is offered through ICC's Adult Community Programs. In this class participants will learn what to consider when planning for you or a loved one, including what to plan for, Medicaid and Medicare concerns, what is important to look for in a facility, and what is expected during the admissions process. An optional facility tour is available after the class. While the workshop is free, registration is recommended due to limited seating: visit www.icc.edu/acp (select "Know Your Community" from the catalog) or call 690-6900 to register.
The same registration information may also be used for the County's "Protecting Our Animals" workshop from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on May 18. During that workshop, Peoria County Animal Protections Services (PCAPS) will discuss volunteer opportunities, animal control laws, and issues such as overpopulation and inhumane care. After the presentation attendees will tour the animal shelter. You might even find a new best friend!
